What’s a Buff Divers trip like? A Buff Divers trip is simply loads of fun and lots of relaxation! It’s much more laid back than a normal dive trip. We have found that on textile dive trips, you may spend the entire week just trying to get to know some of the other divers. But on a Buff Divers trip, the nudity aspect gives everyone something in common. Even on your first Buff Divers trip, you will immediately feel “part of the group.”
Who goes on Buff Divers trips? People of all ages and diving experience are members of Buff Divers. Even snorkelers and non-divers enjoy Buff Divers trips. The average age is about 50. However, we often have some divers in their 20’s and it is not uncommon to have divers in their 70’s. Whatever your age, you’ll find that Buff Divers members love to have a good time and they always make sure everyone gets in on all the fun!
If I go alone, will I be able to find a dive buddy? Never worry about finding a dive buddy. If you are traveling alone, or your partner doesn’t dive or just wants to sit one out, there is always a diver you can buddy-up with. Or, you can always dive with one of the divemasters!
If we’ve never been on a nude trip before, will we be expected to be nude right away? Buff Divers trips are clothing-optional. That means, you aren’t forced to be nude on a Buff Divers trip. Anyone uncomfortable with being nude themselves but not uncomfortable with others being nude is still welcome on a Buff Divers trip. In fact, we have one couple that went on two Buff Divers trips and remained clothed on both trips. They went because two other couples were close friends who wanted to enjoy the nude experience. After being clothed on two Buff Divers trips and getting used to people around them being nude, those members are now fully dedicated to the nudist lifestyle. Looking back, they question why it took them so long? Most people who have never enjoyed the freedom of being nude will quickly shed their clothes once everyone else around them has done so. We just want everyone to enjoy the experience without any pressure one way or the other.
Do we have to dive nude? No! It always seems like half the people dive nude and the other half doesn’t. Just do what feels comfortable! Some people get a little cold even when diving in warm water. Others never put on a wetsuit even when the water is a little chilly. There is no requirement one way or the other. However, because diving nude is so exhilarating, we recommend that everyone try it at least once if the water temperature is warm. Most people find that diving nude is one of the most natural and stress-melting experiences they have ever tried.
Are there any other charges besides the posted trip cost? Unfortunately, the posted trip cost does not include airfare, government taxes, port charges, fuel surcharges, or departure taxes. In addition, anything you buy from the dive operation, such as t-shirts, hats, film processing, etc., is an additional cost. Also, on most trips alcohol and sodas are not included in the posted trip cost. These additional charges are to be expected. Sometimes taxes and port charges are collected by Buff Divers prior to the trip, but usually any additional charges are paid directly to the resort or liveaboard operator at the end of the trip.
